Cruises

Cruise selections are plentiful! Most cruises last seven nights and eight days except for those on the west side of Vancouver Island, which can be fourteen days or more.

We will generally spend four to six hours per day under way leaving ample time at each destination for beachcombing, fishing, sightseeing, swimming, or exploring bays and inlets in our “Zodiak” style shore boat. On golf cruises, our time between destinations will be shorter so you can spend more time on the links. On all itineraries we will stop at night.

With adequate arrangements, including a test of ability for running the Boston Whaler, guests over 21 may take that shore boat on short excursions of their own. (liability release mandatory).

Desolation Sound

Highlights:

Warm salt water swimming.
Inspiring snowcapped mountains.
Beautiful wide sandy beaches.
Hikes to fresh water lakes.
Long daylight hours and prolonged twilight (in summer).
Fishing guides (salmon and halibut) in some areas.
Seafood gathering: crabbing and bottom fishing from shore boat.
Sightseeing in small local communities.
Wildlife viewing: eagles, seals, ravens, sea lions, ducks, etc.
Limited shopping opportunities, mainly small gift shops.

Gulf Islands

Highlights:

Picturesque communities with a variety of shopping opportunities.
Trips by Zodiak to offshore islands (sanctuaries) filled with undisturbed sealife and birds.
Inland hikes and beachcombing. There are numerous large beaches but the water is cold.
Shopping, sightseeing and nightlife in cities such as Nanaimo, Victoria and Vancouver.
Numerous picturesque “pubs” with excellent snack opportunities.
Famous red sunsets.

West Coast of Vancouver Island

Highlights:

Remote, authentic communities with little outside contact.
Outstanding ocean beaches.
Abundance of fascinating wildlife such as sea otters, whales, dolphins and eagles.
Guided ocean fishing available (salmon, snapper, and halibut).
Hot springs.
Gathering of edible sea life: clams, crabs, shrimp.
Five sounds (large bay with islands) with unique opportunities for sights and activities.

Highlights:

Glacier sightseeing.
Whale watching.
Bears and wolves, sea lions and seals.
Puffins, eagles, many other Northern waterfowl.
Sightseeing and shopping in major communities including Juneau, Sitka, Ketchikan.
Visits to smaller communities not accessible to large cruise ships (less tourism).

Inland Passage

Highlights:

Incredible waterfalls and natural beauty.
Crabbing and bottom fishing.
Small communities, some with museums of Native American art.
Numerous lighthouses of note (tours may be possible).
Large ships and cruise ships to observe.
Limited but notable beaches.
Longer days of cruising and sightseeing from the boat. (more time under way each day)
Excursions by shore boat into small inlets not accessible to cruise ships.

Kayak Cruises

Pick your location and we'll provide the comforts of your kayaking headquarters. After eating a hearty breakfast, you'll be off with a box lunch and beverages on your self-styled adventure. Return to the boat anytime for snacks, naps, lounging or reading. In the evenings, enjoy a social hour followed by your choice of dinner fare. Bring your own kayak, or we will assist you in renting one.

Fishing Cruises

We'll be the home base ready with food and comforts. We will arrange for experience fishing guides to take you out from four to eight hours per day. In the evenings, enjoy a social hour followed by your choice of dinner fare.

Campbell River, Port Hardy/Malcolm Island, Hakai Pass, River's Inlet

Golf Cruises

Highlights:

Combination of golfing with city tours or beach opportunities.
Van service from dock to excellent choice of golf courses.
Cruising after golf to new location.
Meals aboard or at clubhouse.
Opportunities for shopping or sightseeing for non-golfers or everyone.

Board at ???
3 nights Nanaimo with golf at ------or sightseeing at Qualicum Beach, Chemainus and Nanaimo.
1 night (optional) at Ganges with golf at Fulford or shopping.
1 night Maple Bay with golf at ------or sightseeing in Duncan BC.

2-3 nights in Nanaimo with trips for golf or sightseeing to Qualicum Beach, Chemainus.

Four Day City and Golf Tour:

Board at Semiahmoo, Blaine, WA.
3 nights Vancouver BC with golfing to three championship golf courses, shopping and sightseeing.
1 night Semiahmoo with golfing plus resort facilities.
